Be Proud. Be you.
Be Proud. Be you. - It's Pride Month and we invite you to celebrate it with us!
To kick off Pride Month, we will open our exhibition BE PROUD. BE YOU. on June 8 after 2 p.m. For this exhibition, we have collaborated with nine talented European artists who have a connection to the Pride community. We asked these creatives to explore the question: What does Pride mean to you? All the creatives captured their answers in a design, which were printed on bags. You can find all bags in our exhibition in the Outlet.
The Landquart Fashion Outlet are part of a larger group of 11 premium fashion outlet shopping centers across Europe, and each artist is based near one of these centers. You can visit our exhibition until the end of June and you can also purchase one of the limited edition bags at the Tourist Information Center. Proceeds will go to ILGA-Europe, the leading pan-European LGBTI rights organization. You can take a look at all the designs at the links below.
Besides a center decorated with six rainbow flags, we will also set up a Pride pop-up bar in Chaletdorf, in collaboration with the hip Zurich venue Charlatan RestoDisco, created by DJ Pitsch. You can look forward to colorful decor and drinks Thursday through Sunday from 2 - 7 p.m. in June. A subtle sound carpet with a Pride playlist will keep you in a good mood the whole month of June at Landquart Mode-Outlet. As a sign of their support, all our employees will wear rainbow-colored lanyards. If you want to learn more about ILGA, visit the exhibition with detailed info about this independent NGO.
Tune in! Discover now the different designs of all nine artists below and the short film on our Social Media Channels with Miss Paprika, where you can experience the transformation of Michel into drag queen Miss Paprika.
MISS PAPRIKA
For our BE PROUD. BE YOU. exhibition we collaborated with drag queen and burlesque performer Miss Paprika. As an artist and an activist, she uses her performances as a way to address political issues. Out of drag, Michel is a Science, Arts and Maths teacher at a secondary school in Switzerland. Miss Paprika’s design is inspired by the art form of drag, putting front and centre a classic drag look: bold, strong contours, big lashes, and a voluminous wig. “Everyone can be a drag queen! No matter what gender or sexuality a person has,” Miss Paprika shared with us. “I would go even further: everyone should try out drag at least once! Playing with your own gender expression can be incredibly liberating, empowering and eye-opening!” You can purchase this limited-edition bag, of which only 300 pieces were produced, from June 8th - June 30 th at our Tourist Information Center or in our Pride bar for 20 CHF. Not only will you acquire a fantastic fashion accessory, but you will also contribute to a good cause. The proceeds from the sale of these bags will be donated to support the ILGA-Europe, the leading pan-European organisation for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex (LGBTI) rights, and the House of Light, a charitable organization dedicated to education and assistance for people affected by HIV/AIDS. Your support will make a significant difference for those who need it most.
